Those who sing by kessir
Those who sing
This is the cover for a Project I've been working on called "Those who sing".
It is an Audiodrama project I conducted with my BFF/Coworker Caro.
It features the music of :iconavalia-kasa:Avalia-Kasa, which heavily inspired me to do this.

If you have a spare half hour, please listen to it :)

Listen on Soundcloud

Why the girl in the cover is nacked? ... I didn't want to specify anything about the character nor her clothes, and nothing about the time or any other detail of the world she lives in. So deal with her silhouette-y ass :U

Bonding with the Spirits by kessir
Bonding with the Spirits

A few months ago I had a gift card for a shop that prints individual motives on cases for smartphones. They also offered prints on a wooden case, so I decided to go for it.
The text I chose was the first line of my Poem "Bonding with the Spirits", or "þamræ ṽal'væram" in the my Conlang Azyri (the language spoken in Zäa in most places except for Al'Sura :P).

The script consists of Runes, each rune can represent a letter as well as a morpheme as well as a pictogram, depending on a specific Diacrit. On top of that, there are 5 different runic alphabets representing different elements (wind, fire, earth, water and æþer). The direction of the first Rune gives the direction into which the script is written (in this case, top to bottom).

To give you an example of how this works out, the first Letter shown is the letter "V" in the æþer rune alphabet. To read it as a morpheme, a parallel line to the centerline is added, in which case the letter would be read "væ". In this case however, a Dot is added at the top, marking it to be read as a Pictogram, where it is read "Vær" or "Væron" and carries the meaning "Spirit".

Of course, knowing how to read the runes in 5 different alphabets and know all the 3 different forms they can take is not an easy feat, so it is mostly only used by scholars.

Anyway, the lines read:

Vær ṽil’duh ko’þamræ yon pa’nes sæar,
Ko’fah fai ko’skiṽhæ kun lynri æþar,
Pa’cym fai pa’run’mil mër leïruþ-h nahr,
Fai nahïr val’miun ṽil’þamræ ra’tar.

To bind a spirit, one must know
To see and write the aethers flow.
To lure and croon them, ere they show,
And thou canst bind them in a vow.

Read more of the Poem here:
Bonding with the SpiritsTo bind a spirit, one must know
To see and write the æthers flow.
To lure and croon them, ere they show,
And thou canst bind them with a vow.
The cleft of worlds might cause thee grieve,
Yet overcome the æther’s cleave
And pull a spirit from the weave.
But sooth their fury, lest they leave!
Nurse them, tend them, do them just.
Obey; Revere them, if you must!
Labor hard to gain their trust,
Lest they shun or turn to dust.
Once the spirits’ mistrust died,
It freely will come to thy side,
Its favor full in thee confide,
Will grant thy touch upon its hide,
Then guide thy quill, but show no fright!
Fear they sense when hand meets hide!
Thus take thy ink and will to write,
Rune by rune thy spell must cite.
Write thy charm upon each plume,
All skin or fur shall bear thy rune,
The spirits by thy bond be swoon,
Steady yet!
A slip and it may shroud in gloom!
Write thy runes upon all scales,
Runes of storm and that of gales,
That of thunder and of hails,
Guide the spirit w

Commission - Time is Money - Cover
Commission to do some Concept Art for my friend Matthew McLean from YAP Audio, for his experimental AudioDrama "Time is Money" (click to listen to it), which he did for his University.

He asked me not to spend too much time on it though because he apparently doesnt like his uni :P (Lick)

Pose practice 3 lefthanded by kessir
Pose practice 3 lefthanded
Again, pose practice with lefthand. Except for the Piratebunny that was done righthanded, thrown inbetween for a friend who has a one-armed bunny, drawn by reference photo.
My experience: I manage to get stabler the more i'm familiar with the subject. When the guy on the right appeared on the screen my sketching ended up super wonky at first and stabilized smewhat throughout...
Time: Again, about an hour.

Hey guys, long time no hear. I figured after almost a year I'll update you on my current status.
As of late, I've been working off a few things from my To-Do list that have been there for over a year, just to uncluster my list a bit. Some art, noting some ideas, finishing off some trades or projects of friends, the usual.
Simultaneously, of course, I have also been working on fixing up old pages of Lullaby, and I'm done with almost the first 100 pages so far. Luckily later pages need barely any touch ups, so the remaining 100 should go off rather quickly.
What am I doing with these? For the most, I'm trying to unify all pages - same font, shading, contrast level, all of which have been rather random over the years or changed throughout. In addition, a lot of leads and references the story had so far slightly changed and I needed to fix those along the road, too, along with some minor cleaning or fixing of panels that I've been pissed off at for years. Nothing as major as redoing the entire thing, though, no worries. I wont fall into that trap.

I'm aware that I have lost my presence on the net over the year of abstinence. My plan is to repost all pages once the touchups are complete, to regain my fellowship and bring you guys up to date on the overworked narrative. I plan to post them on a stable, regular schedule (maybe 3 doublepages a week) and then pick up where I left once I reach the end of Chapter 3.

To give you a clear overview of what is ready so far, here's a few statistics (which I will try to update regularly):
Book 1 Sets* ready for public: 47/103
Book 2 Buffer-Sets* avalible: 3
Status of Cover for Book 2: 100% Done
A super secret extra bonus thingy: ~65% Done

Set*: A set is a compound of 2 facing pages equal to those that will later appear next to each other in the printed book.

I know that my consistency has been terrible and my word not very relieable in the past two years. What I'm doing now is to prepare my path to return to Lullaby and maintain a stable ground for me to stand on, rather than leaving myself obstacles I might or might not fix eventually. I have spend way too much time delivering makeshift solutions with Lullaby that came to bite me in the ass on the long run, and I don't wish to walk on unstable ground with this work again.
Thank you all so much for your patience and loyalty, I really appreciate it! To show my gratitude for accompanying me on this obstacle laden path, I'm crafting a super secret special bonus thing for all of you to be released with my return, which I am certain many of you will like :) So look forward to it!
