Description

Like promissed, here's more of the series :D
This time some things are completely different from the other two: Its one of my male characters, who wears less detailed clothing from the other two, standing inside a place. So thats the three major differences to the other two :) Due to him wearing less detailed clothes, i had less fun with this since the character coloring + shading is most fun to do actually... But it was a nice go nevertheless :)

Like ever before, a detail to the content of this piece:
His name is Xander, also known as Lord Xander, the ruler of Zäa. Unlike the girls from the other pieces of this series, he has a residens he stays at and usually doesn't roam the plains of Zäa, thus he doesnt need to carry around alot of stuff, which make his character design quite simple. Xander disaproves of the luxurious lifestyle many of the kings he appointed lead and likes to wear commoner clothes and tunics like his soldiers wear them more than the magnificent type, but owns some of them, to do his rank justice if required. Due to the simple fashion he often wears, he was ocassionally mistaken for a simple custodian, soldier or servant within his own castle, so he started wearing a Warlords cape (usually a blue cape that goes halfway over the chest like this one. actually only worn by warlords) to avoid further misapprehension among his men.
And before the question will arise: Shoes arent common in Zäa. Thus most of my characters don't wear em. :)

The hall he stands in is one of the halls of his castle Dayhl, a very old castle of no less than 3000 years in age, thus the walls and arches aren't as magnificent as they used to be. The very halls shown in this piece are very special ones, as the floor consists of deep waters ( in this piece, a statue can be seen at the end of the hall, holding a bowl from which water drops) which can be walked on. The green carpet symbolizes grass, the red curtains trunks and the green on the roof stand for the leafs. The blue curtains symbolize the skies, the one he stands before even has clouds on it. The text is some very old tasujan letters that no one can read anymore, but it's said the curtains tell zäan lore. The yellow glowing curtain symbolizes the Empyrean, the sun of Zäa. The reason these halls is so special is because it leads to the only chamber left in all of Zäa where contact to the Azuritean gods can be made :)

Pew, lots of details this time lawl.

I've been eager to see more art of the male characters of the story. I'm glad you've finally submitted some an it's not just any male character but the ruler of Zäa himself! I deeply enjoyed reading all the information about him and the place shown in the background. You are always so creative and have a meaning behind every tiny detail!

He's a very handsome character I must say. Somehow the shading together with his expression and pose make feel that any time he'll come alive and turn and look at me! His race looks really nice. I love those point ears and tail! It's nice to see more races of Zäa. I'd love to have a small encyclopedia now with all the races, the names and their abilities. I simply adore reading this kind of things!

Back to the artwork, despite being simpler the cloths still look amazing. You are so good even at designing 'simple' sets. I like how you have reason for everything though. You are right that as he doesn't need to travel around the lands of Zäa, it would be pointless to give him a very complicated or detailed outfit. I haven't mentioned before I think but your colour choices are incredible when it comes to characters' designs. All the outfits I've seen so far bring out the best of your characters! Choosing the colours based on the planet's fashion and the character's fur colours or even the character's position (like for example Xander has blue and gold which is an 'aristtocratic' combination) it looks so natural and realistic. In stories like these it's important for characters to wear something that suits them.
By the way, it's nice how shoes aren't common there. Not only does it add a touch of difference but also it saves you from designing shoes for every set <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/g/g…" width="17" height="15" alt=":giggle:" title="Giggle"/>

And finally, the background is absolutely stunning. You are so incredible! You can draw both characters and backgrounds so well! It looks so realistic. If it was just the background displayed on the whole screen I would almost feel like i'm there!

Excellent job! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="26" height="17" alt="" title="Love"/>
